Ran another 4 Miles @ 8:10 Pace. Met another runner on my road, a young guy getting ready to go to the police academy and running about 3 miles every few days.

I'm tired of hurting .... it's wearing me out!

4 Miles again @ 8:00 Pace.

I'm out of shape, tired, sore and ready to get things back in order. Going to the foot doctor today to try and figure out if there is something that can be done about my foot. I'm falling apart ... no, I'm tearing myself apart! :-(

I went to the foot doctor and got some answers on my foot. I have 2nd Metatarsal Overload Syndrome in my right foot. The foot doctor took xrays and examined my foot (no MRI). He believes it's not too serious at this time and suggested a cortisone shot, adding foot pads to my shoes to relieve the pressure. Also he suggested Aleve for 7-10 days to see if these things would elliminate the inflimmation and help the healing. I can run tomorrow. Hopefully this will solve the problem but if not I'm supposed to go back in a few weeks.

Ran today. Got the cortisone shot in my foot on Monday. The pain is gone but I still feel the pressure. Added the pads to my shoes. 4 miles @ 7:50 Pace. Slow but better than the other 4 miles the last few days. Hopefully I'm back to so decent training soon. My shoulder still hurts when I run but it's getting better too.

4 Miles again...just a little faster. I've lost a lot over the last couple of months. Not too excited about the climb back up. :-(

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

I entered this race a month or so ago as a $5.00 add on to entering the Chosen Half Marathon. I didn't run for about 2 months prior because of a foot problem and then a bike accident. I was only able to run last week so I had very low expectations going into this race. My last 5K two months ago I ran a 19:42 with no speed training and this race I ran a 21:38 with basiclly no training.

I ran the race at a slightly unconfortable pace but really didn't exert maximum effort. I was able to continue to increase my pace throughout the race and finish with a slight push at the end. Fun day, fun race ... and I ended up with 5 dry fit T-Shirts for doing it! :-)
