Evening Ride: Added another 29 miles to the biking today on the Gruene ride with the BIG boys. There weren't many people there...only the BIG boys and a couple of really slow people. I tried to stick with the big boys but only managed 7 miles on the way out then I was on my own. I rode to the store (not all the way to the dam) so the ride was only 29 miles but I did it all without stopping. I averaged 19.4 mph on the way out and 19.0 on the way back. Not a great improvement but considering no stopping, almost all by myself and the fact that my legs are still sore and tired I think it was an okay ride.

Wow....It was COLD this morning at 60 degrees... As I said before, I'm not sure I will be able to bike when it's below 60 degrees. My hands and feet were really cold for the entire ride this morning!

Morning Ride:  To Redwood and back 16 miles @ 17.6 avg speed.

Sorry this one so long but you kinda need to read the whole thing in context...

Proverbs 7

 1 My son, keep my words
   and store up my commands within you.
2 Keep my commands and you will live;
   guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.
3 Bind them on your fingers;
   write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
   and to insight, “You are my relative.”
5 They will keep you from the adulterous woman,
   from the wayward woman with her seductive words.

 6 At the window of my house
   I looked down through the lattice.
7 I saw among the simple,
   I noticed among the young men,
   a youth who had no sense.
8 He was going down the street near her corner,
   walking along in the direction of her house
9 at twilight, as the day was fading,
   as the dark of night set in.

 10 Then out came a woman to meet him,
   dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.
11 (She is unruly and defiant,
   her feet never stay at home;
12 now in the street, now in the squares,
   at every corner she lurks.)
13 She took hold of him and kissed him
   and with a brazen face she said:

 14 “Today I fulfilled my vows,
   and I have food from my fellowship offering at home.
15 So I came out to meet you;
   I looked for you and have found you!
16 I have covered my bed
   with colored linens from Egypt.
17 I have perfumed my bed
   with myrrh, aloes and cinnamon.
18 Come, let’s drink deeply of love till morning;
   let’s enjoy ourselves with love!
19 My husband is not at home;
   he has gone on a long journey.
20 He took his purse filled with money
   and will not be home till full moon.”

 21 With persuasive words she led him astray;
   she seduced him with her smooth talk.
22 All at once he followed her
   like an ox going to the slaughter,
like a deer stepping into a nooseb]">[b]
 23 till an arrow pierces his liver,
like a bird darting into a snare,
   little knowing it will cost him his life.

 24 Now then, my sons, listen to me;
   pay attention to what I say.
25 Do not let your heart turn to her ways
   or stray into her paths.
26 Many are the victims she has brought down;
   her slain are a mighty throng.
27 Her house is a highway to the grave,
   leading down to the chambers of death.

Get some good gloves and a warm hat! Did my message work? I have been trying to figure out how to send the PT info to you.

I liked yesterdays scripture better than today! This one isn't very uplifting!!!!

Hope you get to put in your extra bike miles tonight. I don't dare get on the bike since my foot started tingling again after riding on our stationary bike for 1:20 last week! Soooo depressed!!!!!! I hate not being able to do any exercise!!!!

Hi Steam, that's what I have to do when it gets below 60 degrees...but it doesn't help a lot. I've got reynolds syndrome where I lose blood flow in my hands and feet below 60 degrees. My body can be really warm but my hands and feet will turn completly white (and obviously lose feeling and hurt). It's something I have to deal with but I'm thinking the extra cold from the wind while riding will just make it worse.

I agree, todays scripture is not really uplifting....sorry! I'm going to pick out a good one for you tomorrow :-)

I'm sorry to hear your foot is keeping you from doing anything. I'm sure you've heard all kinds of suggestions but my daughter started swimming when she had the stress fracture, then biking and finally back to running. Do you have a place to swim? I'm really sorry!!

Good ride. Do you have fires in your neighborhood and do they affect your workouts? My daughter drove to San Marco last night and had to go through Austin to get home.

Hey Flat,

No fires near me. They were all about 30 miles away. I do have a friend that lives about a mile from where they contained the fire. He and many others spent all one day moving his 200 head of cattle and abot 10 horses. He thought the fire was going to destroy his whole place.
