LESS EFFORT ... FASTER PACE ... !

One month ago the same effort, under the same conditions, yielded a 1:20 slower per mile average. I felt much better at the end and actually pushed the pace to a reasonable marathon pace on the last mile. No way I could have done two marathon pace miles but ones a start!

Mile Time HR HR %
1 8:44:00 129 65%
2 8:38:00 144 75%
3 8:12:00 143 74%
4 8:43:00 147 77%
5 8:22:00 150 79%
6 8:14:00 152 80%
7 7:37:00 160 85%

Total 58:30:00 146 76%
Pace 8:21:26
Temp 72 Humidity 78
Dew Point 64 Wind 0

Entered two Half Marathons in the next few months. The first one will basiclly be a training run and hopefully the second will be to push the pace!

I'm unsure about entering Boston this year eventhough I have a qualifying time 20+ minutes faster than my qualifying standard. I would like to go but the expense may keep me from doing it this year.

I'm glad to see the progress, IJR!

Wow! A buck twenty per mile faster is sweet! You've got your MOJO back.

How about a blog fund raiser for IJR :) so glad you are back to your fast self.

Keeps getting better and better - really nice to see! I just entered the Austin 3M...finally remembered to do that instead of Houston this year. I don't think I'll be seeing you at Chosen this year though. 😒

Wow great progress! Glad to see it and the races. You made your BQ and that is set, regardless if you run it or not.

Okay, I'm very impressed with your ability to turn back time and the laws of physics...less effort = faster pace? Nicely done. I'm going for the more effort = slower pace model. It's much less efficient but more realistic.
