My hip is still sore but I decided to run a short run anyway today. The first quarter was painful, after that, it felt better but still slightly irritated. The pain seems to be in the joint or ligaments there’s not any muscle soreness.

A mile is good to loosen thing up a little, but not put to much strain on things! Good job, hopefully it will work itself out shortly for you!!

Glad to see that you were able to get back on the road again. Hope it improves quickly from here.

Do you take any joint supplements? Ghey can do wonders! It akes about a month of continual use to notice an effect, but they have always helped me when running higher mileage! Glucosomine, chondrotin, & MSM all help, but do different things, so it is good to take a brand that has all 3.

Hey JG

I have been taking glucosomine for a couple of months. I'm not sure what else it has in it ill check. I ran the 2 yesterday and this morning could hardly put any weight on my leg. I would like to go to the doctor but don't want to deal with hassle. May have to eventually. I've given it over a week, bent I may do the ibuprophen regiment for a week. This is really messing my marathon goal up..#$@x%#@...!!!

Hey this is off subject, but I just read something in my running group's newsletter this week that I thought might be helpful to you. My coach was talking about running in the heat with a heart rate monitor. He said you should watch it carefully to make sure you don't over or under train... but there is this thing called "Cardiac Drift" which causes your HR to go up during a run (has to do with dehydration over the course of the run) and you should allow for your HR to increase slightly towards the end because of it.

Have you heard of Cardiac Drift? If not, maybe you should google it. I don't use a HR monitor but I have read your workouts where you go by it and so I thought this cardiac drift (dehydration) might explain why you have higher HR at the end.

Thanks Lindsey...good point. I've heard something about it but never really looked into it, I will.
