I was feeling a little better and a little more rested today so I decided to run my small loop which is almost 7 miles (I went ahead and ran a little extra to make it a full 7 miles). I was supprised to find that the results of this run (pace and HR) are actually not far off my normal results when I'm in good shape but I know that mentally my brain was telling me it was much harder.

I really haven't been feeling very good lately. My shoulder is just throbbing and I don't think I'm getting very good sleep because of it. This hot and humid weather is draining when I run.

On a good note, the Chosen Half Marathon is 12 weeks away and I think I'll be trying for a PR in that race. It's not that easy of a course but with good training and good weather I think I can do it! :-)

Psalm 107:19-21

Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.  He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.  Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.

7 miles, nice going! By the time Chosen comes around, you'll be in PR shape again. Hope that shoulder gets better, sounds like no fun.

Your post made me go check out the course. Guess I shouldn't have made that a target race...but I guess if you can PR there, you're really in good shape.

Joe,

I'm going back to the bone and joint doctor Wednesday. I think they might need to do an MRI on my shoulder. I always make the mistake of telling the doctor that things don't hurt that much and then it always ends up being worse than thought. I guess my tolerance to pain is too high.

Looking back at last year's Chosen, compared to my 3M Half, I ran the first 7 miles of the Chosen as fast as I did the 3M. If I can just conquer miles 9 and 11 I really believe I can PR.
