Back home from our Mediterranean Cruise. Got to run only 4 times in the two weeks. This run was back in the Texas HEAT...82 degrees, 74% Humidity, 75 Degree Dew Point. Run almost killed me. 4 Miles @ 8:15 Pace was really hard! My running is going to slow down quite a bit for the next few months.

Callie, my daughter ran the Revel Rockies Marathon last weekend and qualified for Boston!!!! She ran a 3:31:43. I am so happy for her!!! The only problem is that last year's cutoff was 3:23, so she is actually 6 seconds slower than the times that got in last year. She is now thinking about running the Billings Montana Marathon in 14 weeks to try and get a better qualifying time!

Go Callie! Great time. But yes, have her come to Billings. It's a good race, good course with a gentle downhill, and low-ish elevation compared to a Utah or Colorado race. I did it in 2012 and here's my race report: http://russ.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-16-2012.html.

As for your humidity, we had a cold front come through Sunday night so my runs yesterday and today were at 47F with 68% & 45% humidity (which is quite high for us). It's not always that cool, but our humidity is typically low.

Welcome back! Sounds like your holiday went well. How many pounds did you pickup out there cruising? Atta Girl Callie! Go get that Boston Qualification.....IJR - Remember to always carry hydration on your runs and get out when the ambient air temperature is itís lowest when ever possible!

Congrats to your daughter and I'm totally jealous that you were on a 2 week Mediterranean cruise. Sounds amazing.

Tom,

I've pretty much put myself in neutral with running. I guess I'm not too motivated right now with the really hot weather and my busy travel schedule. Roping very consistently, lots of travel and having fun with my part Tim business! I need to set a few running goals to get me back on track! 😁

Thanks for checking in with me!
