One step forward and two steps back....? Went to the gym this morning with the same intention as the last couple of days. Began with a 1.5 mile easy run on the Treadmill, high rep wieghts then another 1.5 miles on the treadmill, weights, 1.5 miles on the Eliptical, weights, and another 1.5 miles on the treadmill. Thought things were good but now, after an hour or so my knee is pretty sore.

Here's my diagnoses....

 Quadriceps Tendon

It's very common for the quadriceps tendon to develop tendonitis, especially in professional athletes. The quadriceps tendon runs from the bottom of the quadriceps muscle down the front of the knee underneath the patellar (knee cap). If you have quadriceps tendonitis you will feel the pain directly above your knee cap. In some cases, the pain may extend up the front of the leg. The pain will feel worse when you sit down, or bring your foot up towards your buttocks. This is because the quadriceps tendon and muscle have to stretch. You may also find if you have quadriceps tendonitis that the area where your quadriceps meet your knee cap there might be some redness and swelling.

Ezekiel 37:6
I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

I think if it didn't hurt while you were working out it is probably minor, just new muscles getting stronger. (No charge for that medical advice.)

Thanks Doc,

As much as I would like to run, I think I'm going to take the weekend off and go back Monday to the Gym and do more Eliptical work and less running. The Eliptical doesn't seem to bother it at all. Have a good weekend.

Hopefully the weekend off did the trick. Good luck on Monday.

Hey Slow Joe,

I went and had some acupuncture done on my knee on Friday. That evening and yesterday I had no pain at all. I would have to really bend it in very specific angles to even tell where it was sore. I had acupuncture done on it on Tuesday with similar results but after a couple of days of light to medium work it sores up again. I'm going to the gym again on Monday to test it again. I've also been taking the glucosemime and some little green pills the acupuncturist gave me. I still have an appointment with the ortho doctor on Thursday who will look at the xray. We'll see how that goes. I'm still wondering if it would be possible to run OKC if the pain goes away in the next week or so....hmmm how much conditioning have I lost...could I complete the 26.2 miles...could I do it in 3:25...? Don't know enough about running or myself if it could be done. My mind says I could..! I guess ill know in a few days.
