Shorter/Faster Temp run today.

It felt good to get my legs moving a little faster although mile 3 was tough as it was a long gradual uphill that really took it out of me. I wasn't planning on running quite this fast but after the second mile I just decided to try and hold the speed throughout the run.

I'm taking off tomorrow and running 13 on Friday, then next week is really easy before the marathon so I'm basiclly done!

No worries about how I feel, there is nothing hurting, sore or really very tired. Whatever shape I'm in it's good for that level. I've been running about 55-60 miles each week, for the last 5-6 weeks. If I can get to this level next year and feel this good I think I can take it to another level....hopefully :-)

Nice running IJR!

You're right about the mileage. Consistency is what makes the big difference. If you build up to where 50-60 miles/week feels comfortable, not a strain, and then repeat it over and over, in time you'll make massive changes to your body, and your times will drop big time.

Nicely done. I think your upcoming marathon has some great possibilities for you. It's all about the nuances of the day, but you seem prepped for good things. 50-60 is where I'm hoping to consistently get to, as it feels like BQ land lives above 50 mpw.

Great session, great to get in that last good effort to drop your LT pace before the race. You're primed for a good one.

Those are great times, man. Looking good.

Thanks All,

DL,

Can you remind me of this next fall when I start training again for a marathon?

Russ,

I'm just hoping for good weather. Yesterday the forcast for race time (6:30 am) was 65 degrees and cloudy (which means humid), today the for cast for that days is 44 degrees and clear.

Joe,

I'm thinking if I just run half of what you run I'll be good! (for an old guy :-)

TK,

Maybe I could keep up with you on one of your "off" days. :-)

Ha. No way, man. I don't run 6 miles at 7 minute pace, YOU do.
