Well...My 16 miles today went to 0... Woke up this morning and my leg, from the knee down, is swolen. I doesn't hurt any worse...just swolen. Not really my knee but my calf, anckle and foot. This is discouraging..! Not sure what to do at this point except wait.

Psalm 37:7
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Man, so sorry about that. Hopefully it goes away quickly. I have no idea about that one, but no increased pain must be a good sign. This might be one for the doctor, though I would be the last person to take my own advice and actually go see one. My deductible is too high.

Preston, start icing it and get the swelling down. Make sure to wear those compression recovery socks. Needless to say, stay positive and these storybook comebacks are what running is all about! Recover quickly!

Major bummer. I'm with Flat, never heard of a running injury like this. Keep your spirits up. Rossy has it right - rest, ice, compression.

Sorry to hear about the knee. Hope you can get back to training quickly.

Dang, hopefully it's just some swelling that goes away. Hope it's looking better today, don't get too discouraged yet.

Flatlander,

I know what you mean about the deductable. I'll probably be ok after next week though since I have to go in for the dreaded 50 year old "rear-entry" check :(

Rossy & Der Hammer,

I've been icing it some but didn't have any compression socks. I'm going to try and find some today. Thanks for the advice, I know you've been frustrated with your knee too.

Benny,

Not sure...there is some soreness and my left leg is fine.

Joe,

Today it seems a little better.

All,

It's not so painful or swolen that I couldn't go run. I could probably go out and run well, I'm just not sure if the pain and swelling would get worse. If it stays the same or gets better by monday I'm planning on running on it to see what happens.

IJR - go to a HEB and look in the pharmacy department. They carry compression socks for $9 a pair. (They also have some for $18 but I found the $9 ones work great.) If you don't see them ask, but they are usually on a display. You do not need to waste $50 on a pair of compression socks. Anyway, I have a pair of the dress socks and wear them to work and will even sleep in them during heavy training.
