Went to the gym today. Stationary bike 5 miles, ran 1 mile on treadmill, upper body workout. I'm almost afraid to say this but my left knee has a very similar pain as my right had with the bone spur. It's not as painful but the symtoms are the same :-(  We'll see how it is later today and tomorrow. I'm leaving for CA for a meeting on Tuesday and won't be home until after midnight on Tuesday so I'm not sure about my runs for Tues. and Wed.

Hope it doesn't end up being another bone spur. Maybe it's one of those microscopic ones that you won't notice too much.

Have a nice trip, maybe you can get in a run in CA.

I'm getting sick of posting my all problems. It started yesterday in the middle of my run just like the time before (seems for no reason). I'm thinking 5 ibuprofen and run..!

I'm taking my running gear just in case I get a little extra time. I'm not sure about the area i'll be in but the weather should be much better than Texas!

Getting sick of posting all of your problems??? haha! me too! I REALLY hope it is not the same problem as your other knee! You are in such good shape right now and so close to that Boston Qualifying time!

I love to run in Cali...the weather is always so cool and nice. Unless, you are going to Palm Springs! ha! Have a good trip. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is just some regular old running pain that comes and goes.

I am laying flat! Trying not to feel bad for myself. I just can't believe my luck lately! We are suppose to be going to Lake Powell for a week of waterskiing in one week. I can't even bend or twist. I will be really upset if this interferes with not just my running but with my skiing! :(

Good luck in California, they really do have superior running conditions out there if you get the chance and if your knee lets you. Hopefully it's nothing.

Safe travels and I hope its just an ache from the long run and you recover quickly. Oh and never worry about posting problems- it is part of what our blogs are for- AND you never know when someone here has had similar problems and can give sound advice. :)

Not trying to be a pessimist too soon but it really feels like the bone spur thing (since I now have experience)! Pain when I move it but torque or pressure on it doesn't make it any worse, tinderness just to touch it (top inside edge of my kneecap, heat in that area, creekyness when it moves (not inside the joint but on the outside). No pain at some times when in certain positions but when moved, ouch! Ok...there's my decription of what a bone spur on the outer kneecap feels like.

Maybe a couple days rest on your trip is what the Dr. would order ... if you get a run in, take it easy! Travel safely!

From Dave S on Tue, Jun 14, 2011 at 02:06:00 from 4.253.101.225

Hope that pain goes away quickly. Another advantage to posting your injuries at least for me is that I like to go back and see if there are patterns to where and when they show up. I've noticed a lot of mine come when I try to build up mileage too quickly or maybe too much speed work. Or you can look back and see what worked or what didn't work to get healthy again. Have a nice trip.

You better give that knee a rest for a couple of days! You have been running lots o miles the past couple of weeks. Ice, heat and rest. NO to bone spurs! ha!
