Went to the gym this mornig to run the TM. The gym wasn't open at 5:30 so I waited a while. One of the guys (who sometimes opens the gym) came by and went in and immediatly came back out. He was not there to open the gym but to get something and then go for a run. I asked him if I could come along so we went out for a short run. That's what the first 3.37 miles are on my sheet below. After that I immediatly jumped on the treadmill and set it at 8:00 pace for 4 miles. The treadmills time out after 45 minutes so I decided 4 miles would be a good breaking point. I rand the first 4, then another 4, then another 4, then another 2 taking just enough time in between to get a good drink and reset the machine (it takes a minute or so to reset).  I ran the last mile faster than 8:00 pace, just because... :-)

My quads are still somwhat sore, my toes look like they went through a meat grinder, but my knee is doing well...just a little soreness which I'm just running through.

41 Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. 42 As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. 43 And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.

Well, you'll either be totally ready for OKC, or your legs will fall off while trying. Nice job!

Great to see that your knee problem is gone. Wow that's a lot of miles the past few days. It's looking good for this weekend. Make sure you give yourself a few very easy days before the marathon. Give those quads a chance to rebuild and the rest of you a chance to recover. It takes a couple extra days for us old guys.

Thanks Dave,

The knee pain went away almost as fast as it came on. Don't know if you heard that it was a bone spur that had broken off. Now there is no more sharp pain as before. My plan now is to run easy tomorrow, fairly hard Wednesday, and taper off for 3 days before the race. Don't really know if my strategy will work but I felt like my body was rebelling and I had to do something to force it back on track...it wanted to be lazy :)

Hey Slow Joe,

Sometime I feel like an idiot posting what I do. Common sense would say not to do some of the things I do :)
