Well, I wanted to write "Okay...I'm Back" today but I really can't. My milage, speed, effort was all good but after I finished my left foot was really sore and tired. I don't believe it's anything other than not being used to running the miles. Actually it's already better as I write this. The weather seemed really good when I started today, it was 71 degrees and felt great. By the end of the run it had jumped to 75 and seemed really humid. One problem I had today was that I sweated so much my shoes felt full of water by the end of the run. A couple of places on my feet were starting to get blisters because of the all the sweat. I wrung out my soxes when I finished and it was as if they had been dunked in water. Overall I'm pleased with the run but how I recovery will really be the measure of where I am right now.

I Corinthians 11:30-31:

"For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged." If you are a true Christian, then you belong to God. You are God's child. If you refuse to judge and improve yourself as a child of God, then God will take it upon Himself to judge you. Many of the troubles that we face in life are nothing more than God's way of judging us since we often neglect to judge ourselves.

Wow, that's a big run. Keep moving throughout the day and your foot will probably be fine.

Anytime one runs a 1/2 marathon distance in June in TX, they are to be commended! Happy National Running Day!

If you can run your MP in this crap (heat) for 13 miles, I'd say you did pretty well.

I always feel nice and cool for about 1.5 miles, even if it's 80 degrees. Then whatever miles are left after that are a sweaty mess.

Hey Joe,

I'm calling 8:00 to 8:15 my MP right now although I'd like to be about 7:45 by the time my next marathon rolls around. I think that's where I was before I hurt my knee.

From JG on Wed, Jun 01, 2011 at 18:53:31 from 74.176.220.126

Well ... the 8:04 pace you ran yesterday gets you a BQ, & a measly 4 seconds off that gets you the 5 minute cushion which should pretty much guarantee you get in!

Did you sign up for TOU yet? All you have to do is stay healthy (& sign up) & you are in Boston!

From I Just Run on Thu, Jun 02, 2011 at 10:29:20 from 67.79.11.242

JG :-)

I haven't signed up for TOU yet. I'm still trying to convience my wife we need to take a quick weekend trip there. We have been so busy with other travel, etc. she's reluctant to commit at this time. I'm hoping to talk here into it in the next couple of weeks. I hope that's not too late to get in!
