Ran the Loop today plus a little to make a total of 7 miles. Easy except for my right knee is now hurting...Ah....! Forgot my watch to download the details...I think I averaged a 8:50 to 9:00 pace. I intended it to be fairly easy since tomorrow 16 is schedule but I'm not sure now with the knee.

I'll have to add the detail chart later.....

Hebrews 12:11-13

11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13 "Make level paths for your feet," so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

Yikes - keep an eye on the knee. I think the biggest goal of training for a marathon is getting to the starting line injury free.

echo DH - for my first marathon I was really walking the line between increasing mileage and getting hurt. Once I stopped with the mileage increases, my problems seemed to go away. Where in the knee does it hurt? Right around/under the kneecap?

It's kinda strange...no swelling, no pain inside, just on the side of my knee cap on the inside top. It doesn't hurt at all to walk normally mainly when I bend it back that area feels tight and a little sore to touch. I've started taking ibuprofen...we'll see how that goes. Thanks for the concern.

Might be runner's knee if it's tender around the edges or just behind the patella (kneecap). Does it hurt going down stairs, or when you squat? I also had runner's knee. Glucosamine and quad-strengthening exercises fixed it (not sure if that is what you have).

That sure may be what it is. I wrapped it today and it helped a lot. I'll see how it is in the morning...?
