I really don't know if I should be happy or unhappy about this run. It seems I haven't been pleased with any of my Long Runs lately. Not that I missed the pace very much (I was supposed to run a 7:41 and I ran a 7:43) but it was more of the way I felt at the end of the run. I again felt like I couldn't have kept the pace up for another 6.2 miles much less drop it to a 7:26 for the entire run. Oh well, it is what it is! I did try and keep my paces slower at the beginning of the run but the wind and the hills in combination still made it somewhat hard. I put my HR monitor on upside down and didn't figure that out until mile 10 so I didn't get an heart readings for the first miles. This was my last 20 mile run before the marathon... I was really hoping to nail it with confidence.

Great job. You are so close to your marathon goal pace for a 20 - you should be very happy with that! Once you taper, rest up and carbo-load you will definitely be able to drop 17 seconds avg per mile of your pace!

Ditto Dasha! You are there!!!! :)

Yeah Dasha is right. I think I only managed 14 at MP before Houston and it took all I had to pull that off. Then on race day the pace feels so much easier and you're able to do it for 26.

Good run, you're right where you need to be. Excited about Cowtown for you.

I would have to agree with the others. That taper will do wonders. I'm sure you're not completely recovered from your PR half last weekend.

A lot of dittos here- 20 miles at that pace on what I would really call tired legs is quite good and with the taper you should gain that confidence. Joe is right about the race day- 26 with the support - makes the pace feel easier.
